Why the elections in Iraq won't work
With the recent attacks on not only military personal, but other Iraqi's as well, things seem to be getting worse, not better, in Iraq. President Bush still insists that everything will go according to plan. It seems as though the closer we get to the 30th, the more frequent the attacks are coming.
Now there is a video on the internet that shows the beheading of two Iraqi's in the middle of the street with people and cars going by. This is the lateset in a string of attacks. Blown up mosques and other coalition-friendly groups have been all too common lately. This article at CNN.com explains some of the more recent attacks.
Mr. President, are you aware about just how messed up things are over there? Our military does not have control of the situation. Intelligence is estimating that about 500 seperate attacks are being planned to be carried out before the election. I'm sure you can't prevent all attacks, but c'mon! These guys seem to be way too organized for a little insurgent group. If we can get intelligence about how many attacks will happen, then why can't we get intelligence to help the troops prevent them.
