Dick's Last Stand

Now I spent most of my New Year's Eve entertaining people at Wiseguys Comedy Cafe. I had no intention of watching ABC or Dick Clark's "triumphant" return to New Year's. However, as part of the festivities at the comedy club, we decided to tune into the countdown in New York. I just about freaked.

Now as most of you probably already know in late 2004 Dick Clark suffered a stroke. For the first time in, like, 30 years he wasn't in Times Square for New Year's Eve. He has been slowly recovering since then and this year he decided to go ahead and do the show. Like I said earlier, I freaked.

When Dick Clark came on the television I was shocked to see that he actually had aged. Not only that, his voice sounded eerily old. I know he had to learn to talk again after his stroke, but this was almost depressing. I guess he really doesn't look too bad, but the voice really freaked me out.

I really hope he makes a full recover and comes back next year resembling his old self again. Maybe he won't and the era will be gone forever.
