CNN.com - Activists continue to challenge Ohio ballots: But really, Jesse Jackson is pissed because Kerry lost.

The headline CNN puts on this story is a little misleading. It's not really activist's', plural. It's more, an activist, singular. And that activist is the "Rev." Jesse Jackson.

I'm a baby

He's already on my list of people I can't stand. Why? It's not because he's black. Any idiot who claims that I'm a racist and don't like him because he's black is a moron. I don't like him because he uses his religious title and prestige to try to push a political agenda. The party he supports are the same people who are not letting kids in California read the Declaration of Independence at school because it talks about God. He's a Reverend! I think God would be a factor somewhere in there.

apparently Jackson feels that the election is being stolen in Ohio and although most people have already given up and are ready to deal with the outcome this man thinks that he alone will prove them wrong.
"We can live with winning and losing. We cannot live with fraud and stealing,"
No. I'm sorry Mr. Jackson, and I say "Mr." because you don't deserve to be called a reverend. You are just pissed because Kerry lost and you can't stand the fact that the GOP has the majority in the House and Senate.

In the words of Justin Timberlake: "Cry me a river" Jesse.

Michael Moore On Jay Leno

My wife and I have a little tradition on Monday nights to sit down and watch the headlines on the Tonight Show before we go to bed. It was interesting because the first guest was going to be Michael Moore. I decided to stay up and watch a little bit. After Michael Moore's visit here to Utah, I've been a little more interested in the way Moore presents his arguments.

What I saw was interesting, shocking, and funny. Michael Moore came on the show, not in his usual hat and jacket with his face all scruffy. He was clean shaven, and wearing a suit! Michael Moore in a suit? Now something has got to be up with that.

I didn't see all of the interview but in the part I saw, Moore's explanation of the suit was simple, "If you can't beat 'em, ya might as well look like 'em." When asked why Bush won the election I was ready for him to go into a conspiracy theory about how it was stolen. Instead he said that Bush had the better story.

Is this a new Michael Moore? I doubt it. I think he's just doing it to try to look good to the Academy in hopes of winning an Oscar. He'll probably try to come of as a decent person during the next few months in order to convince people that he is a reasonable man. I hope he doesn't even get nominated. That would be hilarious.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'd just like to wish everyone a great Thanksgiving. I hope you guys like my new layout. It won't be like this for long. I think I look pretty damn sexy in a pilgrim's hat though.

I'm thankful for a lot of things but for the sake of time and your short attention spans I'll only list a few.
1. My wife
2. This country and the fact that I can believe in God even though radical leftists are trying to keep me from it.
3. My friends, especially those who comment on this blog.
4. The fact that I'm better than most people.
5. Spoonfuls of sugar.
6. Midgets because they make me laugh.
7. John Kerry because he makes me laugh.
8. That guy who lost 10 bucks somewhere and I got to find it.
9. Stereotypes
10. Jewish people.
I hope everyone has a safe Thanksgiving.

When Liberals go too far.

This story has really got me pissed off at those stupid liberal PC leftists. They deny the fact that the founding fathers were religious by banning excerpts from the Declaration of Independence.

This is totally absurd! I can't believe that someone would claim to be an American and then deny a student the right to read some the very documents that founded the country just because they mention God.

Of Growing Hair, and Suspensions

Well, I've been rehearsing for this play that I'm in and I received some very upsetting info about it on Friday. The play is "The Trojan Women" by the Euripedes, who is famous for his very depressing plays. Anywho, its Greek, and it's about Greeks, and I happen to be playing a Greek, and it just so happens that Greeks back then have long curly hair. If you've seen my picture(you can't miss it if you're on this site), you'll notice that my hair is short and straight.

So they told me that I'm going to have to grow my hair out till January, when the play is, and then they are going to try to give it a perm or something. I am sooooo not looking forward to that. I don't like my hair enough as it is. And now they are going to perm it? Well, if it works it would be a miracle.

I too saw the fight this weekend between the Pacers and the Detroit fans. I found it to be very entertaining. I especially enjoyed when Jermaine O'neal decked that guy in the face. Ha!

Well, Ron Artest was wondering how he could promote his rap career. Guess what Ron you've got tons of time now. Let's hope your music career is better than Shaq's or better than Master P's attempt to play basketball. I think the only people that will miss you are those people who had you on their fantasy teams.

I for one know that shark attacks are fairly rare, but 18 ft is one big fother mucking shark!
One big shark

One thing I think is funny is that they associate this freaky picture of a Great White with the story.

Kids attacked by ice chunks and tasers

Okay, I'm all for discipline in school and stuff but this is going a little too far.

I'm sorry, but I'd take the risk of being cut before zapping a kid with a taser. Wussy cops.

Frist and the Filibuster

Now CNN is reporting that Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is urging the Democrats to stop the filibustering which has been blocking Pres. Bush's appointments for lower courts. Of course, Frist is worried that because of these blocks, the Dems will block Bush's appointments for the Supreme Court.
"One way or another, the filibuster of judicial nominees must end,"
That's great Mr. Frist. How exactly do you suggest that is done? We've seen how much the Dems hate Bush. It's not a matter of what is good for the country. Hasn't it been made obvious to the American people that the leaders of the Democratic Party don't care about the good of the country? All they care about is getting into power. They are going to use every opportunity they have to block legislation, court appointments, and any other attempt by the Republicans to pass anything. The Dems would probably sit there with their fingers in every Republican senator's butt just so they wouldn't pass gas.
"The Senate cannot allow the filibuster of circuit court nominees to continue. Nor can we allow the filibuster to extend to potential Supreme Court nominees."
Again, a great thought, but how is it accomplished? News flash: You need 60 votes to stop a filibuster and you have 55 republican seats. You do the math. That's five democratic votes that you will need to convince. Remember, they hate Bush!

Frist has said he may try to change the rules about the filibuster which would require a simple majority to stop it instead of the 60 votes. Well that would be a good idea except that you would need 67 votes to pass that!

We are in for some rough times ahead. The battle for seats on the Supreme Court could be one of the most nasty battles fought these next four years.

Views and Predictions for the Next Four Years

With the election over, the buzz of political change is starting to emanate from both sides of the political spectrum. In the left corner, the Democrats, whose defeat in the election have left many in disbelief and some in fear about the coming four years. On the right side, the Republicans, who look to a new four years, and with a sizeable advantage in both the House and Senate, could push some legislation.

If you are a Democrat you might be thinking to yourself, "Why us? Didn't we have the resources?" I think that you did. The only problem was under estimating the number of the Jesus Freaks in the country. Like I said in my last post the religious right was a major factor in the election. The Left seem to have an uncanny knack of alienating religious folk with their ideals and politics. Views on same-sex marriage and abortion leave the religious majority no choice but to vote Republican.

Also there seems to be a great deal of "suffering" going on with the Dems. Reports of Dems seeing therapists and moving to Canada are rampant. It looks as if Bush has already boosted the business of therapists and shrinks. I personally can't understand how an election could have such a big effect on people. Is it really the end of the world? Some have even said that this election was worse than 9/11! What! Oh wait, yeah I see, this is way worse. Except that thousands of people didn't die! What a ludicrous statement! Prediction: Thousands of Democrats will flee to Canada and incite them to a war against the U.S. This will result in the complete destruction of Canada, and thankfully, the destruction of Celine Dion.

President Bush's life has not become any easier however. With the announced resignations of John Ashcroft, and Don Evans the name game has begun to decide who will fill the first two vacant cabinet spots for the next administration. Alberto Gonzales seems to be the man who will replace Ashcroft. Prediction: Since he's Hispanic this could only mean that Mexico is slowly but surely regaining control of the land we took from them. By the next election California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas will become part of Mexico.

Bush also has the daunting task of trying to figure out who he could appoint to the Supreme Court. Orrin Hatch is a name that has been thrown around. The Democrats are bound to make it difficult for him to appoint anyone they feel would threaten to overturn any established controversial verdicts like Roe v. Wade. While I think this wouldn't happen in the first place I think that the Dems will make it difficult if not just for spite. It is obvious with Chief Justice Rehnquist's illness that there will be most likely a few spots that will come up in the next for years. How Bush handles this will be a test of his wisdom in choosing candidates. A filibuster is bound to be the result if the choice is too conservative, but with a majority of the Senate seats in the red zone that would come to an end quickly. Prediction: Bush will suggest Orrin Hatch which will result in a filibuster. The filibuster will end when Ted Kennedy's liver explodes on the Senate floor, a result of years of drinking. There will be much rejoicing

For the Democrats the next four years should be a time for rebuilding and soul searching. Without a doubt they are busy pointing fingers at each other and hopefully that stage will pass quickly and Operation Hillary '08 will commence. That's where I see the party heading. They most likely won't learn from their mistakes and a former first lady is going to be the best that they can possibly muster. Prediction: Hillary runs in '08 and loses because of the massive Democratic Exodus to Canada and the loss of California to Mexico.

Against who will they be up against? Who knows. Right now a few people look good. Possibly Rudy Giuliani could be a contender or Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney. I think, however, that getting some legislation passed will be the first thing(after the war). Even Republicans have to admit that this war has escalated to a point that we are just trying to prevent another oppressive regime from taking power in Iraq. It started out as a search for WMD's, which turned into a freedom mission, which has now become Operation Save our Asses. As soon as that gets taken care of, (elections in January? Yeah, right) we can bring the focus back to our own country. Prediction: The war ends sometime in March when the Iraqis finally give in to the U.S. and allow us to build a McDonald's in Baghdad.

A Look Back at Election '04: or Why Kerry Lost

Well, the bloggers have definitely had a lot to write about the past few days. I have kept pretty quiet just trying to soak up everything and formulate my own opinions as to why things happened the way they did. There are a few key reasons that I think the Democratic Party was unsuccessful in the bid for President. These reasons are not a surprise or new, but my take on them might be a little different.

Reason #1: The Candidates.
I think that the selection of John Kerry as the Democratic candidate was probably the wrong choice. John Kerry who is known as Liberal #1 was destined to have a tough time "converting" those republicans who may have been dissatisfied with G.W.'s first term. Those voters would probably have responded to a more conservative Democratic candidate. Maybe Zel Miller, or Lieberman would have been a better choice.

Also the selection of John Edwards as the running mate probably hurt Kerry's chances. What has he really done? I feel that basically they found that they needed a younger and more attractive running mate to compensate for the dull "Lurch-like" Kerry. Apparently the country didn't buy it.

Reason #2: Being on the Wrong Side of Two Important Issues.
The two issues that were focused on the most during this election were definitely national security/terrorism and the economy. I include the War in Iraq as part of the first. Obviously those things are important and should have been looked at. But what happened is that two specific issues were overlooked. The first is that of abortion, the second is same-sex marriage.

Exit polling(which I talk about later) showed that most people listed moral values as one of the top things they looked for in a candidate. Kerry's position on abortion and same-sex marriage hurt his chances with most Evangelical Christians as well as many other Christian denominations. That is probably why he didn't win a single southern state.

Reason #3: Reliance on the Non-existent Increase of the Youth Vote
I think that the Kerry Campaign relied too heavily on the youth vote and as a result they were hurt by it. The youth were supposed to turn out in droves, and theoretically most of those votes would have gone to Kerry. What happened however was that the youth did what youth do and slacked off. They didn't come out in droves and Kerry didn't get those votes. Michael Moore's campus tour obviously didn't help too much.

Reason #4: Early Celebration as a Result of Inaccurate Exit Polling
I guess this really isn't a reason that he lost per say, but it was a factor in the image of his campaign during the election. In the beginning the exit polls showed that Kerry would win the election by a landslide. The Kerry Camp started to celebrate until a few hours later when the real results started to come in. After that it was all Bush.

Reason #5: Teresa Heinz Kerry
Maybe not a real reason, but I had to include it anyway. This woman has said some of the most insulting things during the campaign, which included remarks made about Laura Bush that proved to be inaccurate. I don't think she was a major factor in why Kerry lost, but she did more damage than good.

What we've learned
I think that this election showed that the majority of the country are still morally conservative. The Democrats have been focusing too much time on special interest groups and listening to people like the ACLU and Al Sharpton. Instead of trying to make the country be the way they want it, they should realize that the country knows what it wants and it's not socialism.
